Applied Computer Solutions was a key partner for the service providers as they rebuilt their networks for video, mobile and IP data services. We cut our teeth on helping the providers move from a circuit-switched hierarchical architecture to the existing IP native factory. The experience with video and mobile is especially important as we help our clients retool the existing networks when moving to SDN/NFV, and higher bandwidth on-demand platforms. We were lucky to have been exposed to the solutions not just the technology stack layers. We are not just a layer 1 through 3 integrator – scaled solutions that deliver on cost reductions; optimization and new revenue are what matters. Applied Computer Solutions has integrated physical hardware, virtualized solutions, and the full technology stack in both the traditional wired and mobile networks. We delivered on projects in the data center that transitioned the mobile service providers to a broadband capable network. Our experience in implementing routing, switching, backhaul, In-Building RAN, EPC, vEPC, and IMS supporting structures is very hard to find in an OEM-agnostic organization.
We have helped clients build out their existing mobile and IP networks and have also been an early integrator in the move to NFV and Network SDN. The biggest challenge for clients to move to a virtualized environment is how to bridge from their existing appliance networks. Second to only our integration services, ACS has provided numerous custom solutions to help automate existing networks. These network and programming skills are the foundation of our supporting solutions associated with tools such as Tail-fs NCS platform. We have real life experience in abstracting the management and support of an appliance network.
The core of our mobile broadband offering surrounds the IP backbone, EPC and RAN. We have relationships and certifications with all of the major OEMs. Mobile broadband is wireless internet access delivered through mobile access points to computers, mobile devices, and other mobile digital devices using radio access points and/or towers in both the licensed and unlicensed spectrum. We have been diligent in understanding HETNET and embracing 3G/LTE and WIFI platforms. The challenge is to help the service providers keep up with the voice/data/video demands of the mobile user. The move to a virtual EPC and introduction of Enterprise Femto and Small Cell are areas in which ACS is particularly active in helping operators.
We are presently involved in the integration of Mobile Unified Communication platforms, IoT and M2M solutions, Edge Caching, our new Smart Perimeter Practice, and Video Analytic solutions.
